CARSON, Calif. — There are some new faces at Chivas USA’s preseason training camp.

Chivas USA will face off against Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles de Caliente of the Mexican First Division tomorrow, Wednesday, February 22 at 8 p.m. PT in University of San Diego’s Torero Stadium in search of the San Diego Clasico title.

This Sunday, television audiences as well as Chivas USA fans can enjoy the participation of Red-and-White players Juan Pablo Angel, Jorge Villafaña and Dan Kennedy in the Spanish-language show ‘Dale con Ganas’ or ‘Give it all You’ve Got!’ starting at 7 p.m. PT on the Univision network.

“Welcome aboard. This is Volaris flight #912 from Guadalajara with Los Angeles as its final destination, this is your captain,” up until this moment, everything sounds like things you’d hear before a flight takes off. However, the more than 150 passengers on board exchanged surprised looks when the captain added, “I want to welcome each and every one of you, but in particular the members of the soccer team Chivas USA, who are joining us today and will present us, exclusively, their new 2012 season jersey!”

Weekly Chivas USA Youth Academy Update February 13
The U9's kicked off State Cup this past weekend in Apple Valley with pool play and came away with three wins to win their group and advance to the elimination round of 16 this upcoming Saturday.  Despite windy conditions, the U9's overcame slow starts in the first half of each game with strong finishes to put away the competition. 

Chivas USA took a 1-0 victory over MLS Expansion club Montreal Impact this afternoon at University Field 2 at The Home Depot Center. The only goal in the match came in the second minute as Ryan Smith cross passed the ball to MLS SuperDraft selectee Casey Townsend, who was able to kick the ball past Montreal’s goalkeeper Greg Sutton and into the back of the net.

On Thursday, February 9 US Soccer Development Academy named U15/U16 Chivas USA's Jorge Ruiz Player of the Week. Ruiz, a 1997 playing up in the academy, scored two goals and added a late assist to secure a 3-3 draw versus the Irvine Strikers. Ruiz has tallied 8 goals so far this season. The young goat also earned a roster spot in next months U15 National Team camp at the Home Depot Center.  There are over 78 teams across the country that compete in US Soccer's Development Academy.
