Chivas USA acquired Ecuadorian midfielder Oswaldo Minda on December 21, 2011, just days after he, along with now former team Sociedad Deportivo Quito were crowned champions of the national maximum soccer circuit Serie A on December 17. The 29-year-old made 22 MLS appearances for Chivas USA in 2012, and was a strong presence in the center of midfield.
Minda, originally from Pasaje, Ecuador, played with Sociedad Deportivo Quito since 2008. He appeared in 85 matches, scoring 11 goals for with the five-time champion. Minda started his professional career in 2000 in Quito’s most popular team, Sociedad Deportivo Aucas, and has also played for Deportivo Cuenca (2006) and Emelec (2007). Internationally, Oswaldo has figured prominently with his national team; since 2010, he has recorded 15 caps for ‘La Tri’.
