Chivas USA acquired Nick LaBrocca, a central midfielder entering his sixth MLS season, in a trade with Toronto FC on March 11, 2011. As of the end of the 2011season, LaBrocca has played 123 games (115 starts) in his MLS career, scoring 13 goals and adding 12 assists, eight of those goals having been scored with the Red-and-White last season, earning him the Chivas USA Golden Boot Award for being the team’s top-scorer. LaBrocca started off his professional career when he was selected in the 2007 MLS SuperDraft by Colorado Rapids before joining Toronto FC in 2010.
Originally from Howell, New Jersey, LaBrocca attended Rutgers University where he started in all 18 games in his senior and sophomore year, scored 10 goals and adds eight assists to his college career and earned All-Big East Honors three times. On July 9, 2011, LaBrocca scored his sixth goal of the season with Chivas USA and MLS’ 10,000th goal in the history of the league, earning him his first MLS All-Star call-up and was the only Goat to start in every match last season.
