Julio Morales
Julio Morales joined Chivas USA in February 2013 on loan from Chivas Guadalajara, during the Red-and-White’s training camp. The 19-year-old Mexican-American was born in Glendale, Calif. but grew up a few hours north in San Jose. Morales played for Willow Glen High School in San Jose, scoring 17 goals as a freshman, 23 as a sophomore, and 38 in his junior year, for which he was named San Jose Mercury News’ boys soccer player of the year.
While in San Jose, Morales played club soccer for Sporting Santa Clara. The forward attracted attention from NCAA teams as well as professional clubs in Mexico, before ultimately joining the youth setup at Chivas Guadalajara
