Without Coach Chelis, Chivas USA returned to training Monday morning after a weekend off. The Red-and-White come off a bye week and are preparing to extend their four-game unbeaten streak this Saturday against the Colorado Rapids.

Injuries began taking a toll in the Chivas USA roster this early in the season; players missing from Monday training included Miller Bolaños (ankle sprain), Oswaldo Minda (left hamstring) and Steve Purdy (shin).

Juan Agudelo has been sidelined from training since suffering a hamstring strain in Chivas USA’s match against Vancouver Whitecaps FC on March 30. The U.S. international forward told cdchivasusa.com he’s expecting to return to training sometime this week and is hoping to be on the bench against the Rapids.

Edgar ‘Chore’ Mejia made his return to training Monday morning; the Mexican midfielder was held out of training due to a groin strain suffered in the match against the ‘Caps that led to his substitution in the 77th minute of the match.

During Monday’s training, the Goats worked on conditioning and passing exercises. The team then went on to have a 10v10 inter-squad scrimmage where only two-touch passes were permitted.

The Goats will train every day this week at 10:30 am at The Home Depot Center’s Field 6. For all training updates, follow Chivas USA on Twitter: @cdchivasusa
