Goalkeeper Patrick McLain sent on loan

The 24 year-old will play for USL-side the LA Blues

CARSON, Calif. (Monday, April 15, 2013) – Chivas USA goalkeeper Patrick McLain will go on loan to the L.A. Blues, the club announced today. The second-year player will be on loan to the USL side from April 15 to May 31 of this year with a MLS/Chivas USA option for extension through June. McLain will participate in training sessions with both clubs.

McLain, a Wisconsin native and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo product, earned All-Big West Conference Second-Team honors during his junior year after leading all conference goalkeepers in save percentage (.835) and ranking second with 5.46 saves per match, third with five shutouts and fourth with 71 saves. McLain was signed by Chivas USA in March of 2012 and has yet to make his MLS debut.
