Two big wins for the U15/16 & U17/18 teams move them closer to playoffs

Chivas USA’s Youth is looking brighter and more promising each week as the U15/16 & U17/18’s both earned big victories last weekend in the USSDA League.

With the participation of Chivas USA First Team midfielder Marco Delgado, the Red-and-White U18’s took a 5-0 victory over Irvine Strikers U18’s on Saturday at the College of the Sequoias. Caleb Calvert (previously with the U16’s) notched two goals for Chivas, while Romario Lomeli, Alejandro Sanchez and Julio Chavez each scored one goal. The young Goats moved up to the fifth spot of the Southwest Division standings and are currently in the 12th wildcard spot for the USSDA playoffs.

Meanwhile, the U/1516’s, who are already qualified for the playoffs, earned an 8-2 win against the Irvine Strikers U15/16’s; the Red-and-White played with 10 men after Amaya Adonis was ejected from the match. U.S. U17 player Bradford Jamieson notched four goals for Chivas USA, and Mark Hernandez, Amaya Adonis, Jorge Ruiz and Edgar Murillo each scored respectfully. The U16’s are in second place of the Southwest Division and will qualify to the USSDA playoffs in 11th overall place.
