CHICAGO - Chivas USA (1-1-1) completed its afternoon practice session today at Toyota Park’s auxiliary practice field, ahead of its second road match of the 2013 season against the Chicago Fire (0-2-1) on Sunday beginning at 2 p.m. (PT). The Rojiblancos look to extend their unbeaten streak to three as they face a Chicago team that is winless in its first three matches thus far.

The Red-and-White arrived in two separate groups to the Windy City on Thursday, as part of the squad and Head Coach Jose Luis Sanchez Sola “Chelis” arrived from Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, fresh off a 3-3 tie with sister club Chivas Guadalajara on Wednesday at Estadio Olimpico Benito Juarez.

The Rebaño Angelino completed a high-paced practice session from end-line to end-line with temperatures in the mid, to high 30s, and reported themselves ready for Sunday’s battle against their Eastern Conference opponent.

“The team is happy for the opportunity to head into another week of play and with another league match ahead of us,” said right back Mario de Luna, who has played in every minute this season on Chivas USA’s back line. “It’s our first match away from Los Angeles, and today’s training was good so we could get that long travel from yesterday out of our system.

“We’re happy with where we are at this point in the season. Right now the most important thing is to come away with three points to stay among the conference leaders,” concluded De Luna.
