After earning a 7-3 victory over South Korea’s Gangwon FC on Saturday and taking Sunday off, Chivas USA hit the field Monday morning to prepare for their next opponent, the LA Blues of the USL Pro League.

Trialist Carlos Borja most recently played with the Blues and is looking forward to seeing former teammates. Last Tuesday, the Blues fell 3-0 to the LA Galaxy, a match played at The Home Depot Center.

“It’s going to be good to see my friends that still play there, but now I’m here, focused with Chivas USA and I have to make the most of it,” Borja said.

Midfielder Oswaldo Minda was on the field for practice, but did not train with the team. On Saturday, Minda was part of the starting line-up for the Red-and-White, and wore the captain’s armband, but three minutes in, walked out of the game due to a minor hamstring strain.

Meanwhile, Juan Agudelo, Jorge Villafaña, Ben Zemanski and Marco Delgado continue recovering from their injuries and joined the team for training. Agudelo and Delgado will likely have minutes in Tuesday’s scrimmage.

The Red-and-White will look to remain unbeaten in the preseason as they host the LA Blues on Tuesday at 11 am at The Home Depot Center’s Field 6. Fans interested in coming out and supporting the Goats may do so; the scrimmage and parking are free of cost.
