Chivas USA kicked-off the week with training Monday morning at The Home Depot Center’s Field 6. The team returned from Las Vegas Saturday afternoon after defeating Colorado Rapids 3-0 at Sam Boyd Stadium on Friday. The Goats held practice this morning without coach Jose Luis Sanchez Solá, a.k.a El Chelis, who is in Mexico due to personal matters.

Goalkeeper Patrick McLain made his first return to Red-and-White practice after being held out due to illness. In his absence, Tim Melia played all 70 minutes in Chivas USA’s 3-1 victory over San Nicolas on Tuesday; Dan Kennedy and Melia split minutes in Friday’s game against the Rapids.

Midfielder Oswaldo Minda started practice with the team, but then proceeded to train individually with team trainers. The Ecuadorian is recovering from a minor hamstring injury he suffered in the Red-and-White’s scrimmage against South Korea’s Gangwon FC.
