Early January, Chivas USA’s Youth Academy announced that it will hold three separate I.D camps for its new  U14 squad that will take part of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy starting September 2013. The first camp is scheduled for Monday, January 28, followed by Feb. 25 and April 22.

The camps are for categories 1999 and 2000 are designed to identify talent early on; all Chivas USA Youth Coaches will be present at the tryouts and only 50 players will be allowed to participate in each camp date.

After speaking to our Academy coaches, players should count with the following criteria if they are interested in joining the squad:

-Be a smart and technical player that reads the game very well

-Due to the team’s national level competition, the commitment level is much higher

-Must have a strong mentality to keep up with league demands and consistency

-Players must know that if they join the team, they are not guaranteed playing time

The U14 team will be a new category under the USSDA league that is a fully funded 10-month season with fall and spring competitions, both regional and national. The Chivas USA Youth Academy currently sits in fourth place on a national level, based on rankings from US Soccer.
