It was another day of training this morning for Chivas USA at The Home Depot Center. The team held an inter-squad scrimmage with 35-minute halves. In the first half, the orange squad took a lengthy lead as Alejandro Moreno scored two goals and Juan Agudelo scored one. For the second half, the orange squad consisted of players and coaches over the age of 30, with the exception of midfielder Nick LaBrocca. LaBrocca notched the final goal of the match to give the squad the final 4-0 win.
Assistant coach Mike Munoz served as referee in the first half; midfielder Peter Vagenas reffed the second half. Assistant coach Greg Vanney and technical director Simon Elliott went the full 70 minutes on the field. The scrimmage was also the first appearance for goalkeeper Tim Melia after being sidelined for lower back pain last month.
The Goats are off this weekend, but return to training on Monday to continue preparing for the match against Colorado Rapids on Oct. 20 at The Home Depot Center.
