Jazic made two assists in Canadian win; Minda watched Ecuador defeat Chile

Defender Ante Jazic went the full 90 minutes in Canada's 3-0 defeat over Cuba at BMO Field. Jazic was also key in the match as he made two assists for Les Rouges; the first in the 14th minute of the match that helped open the scoreboard as Tosaint Ricketts put it into the back of the net. Once the Canadians were up 2-nil, Jazic put another cross for David Edgar, who shot it into the back of the net. With the win, Canada moved back up to second place after Panama defeated then-second place Honduras. Up next, Canada will look to assure their spot in the fourth round of CONCACAF's World Cup Qualifiers facing Honduras on Tuesday, Oct 16 in San Pedro Sula. 

Match Highlights: Canada vs Cuba

Midfielder Oswaldo Minda was on bench in Ecuador's 3-1 win over Chile in the ninth match of CONMEBOL's World Cup Qualifying games. With the win, La Tri remained in third place with 16 points, with five less goals scored than second place Colombia, also with the same points. The Ecuadorians controlled the majority of the match, having eight shots at goal, none for the Chileans. Minda and Ecuador will now prepare to face Venezuela this Tuesday, Oct. 16 in Puerto de la Cruz, Venezuela.
