The Chivas USA Youth Academy continued their SCDSL fall season this past weekend

The 2012/13 Chivas USA Youth Academy continued their SCDSL fall season this past weekend with all youth teams in action. Here are the results from this very successful weekend. Congratulations to our teams and thank you to our players, parents and coaches for their dedication and commitment to Chivas USA!


B9 Chivas USA 3, Fram 3
Palos Verdes
The U9's played to thrilling 3-3 tie versus Fram this past weekend. Chivas played a very determined and athletic Fram team from Palos Verdes, who jumped on the board early in the first half. Chivas finally settled in and added two goals before halftime to take a 2-1 lead. In the second half, Fram countered with two goals of their own to go up 3-2 with minutes remaining. The little goats managed to score late and had two great chances to win the game but the crossbar got in the way. It was an entertaining game!

B10 Chivas USA 3, Santa Barbara 0
Santa Barabara
The U10's traveled to Santa Barbara on Saturday for another SCDSL game. Santa Barbara, a very good team gave Chivas all they could handle with lots of pressure from the first whistle. Eventually the 10's broke Santa Barbara down and went into half with a 2-0 lead, both goals were scored by Tomy Angel by way of headers from crosses. Continuing the same theme in the 2nd half Aimar Cuevas scored the 3rd and final goal with a crafty display of dribbling inside the 18 with a shot to the upper right corner of the net. The U10's will have a bye next week and resume play the following weekend agains FC Golden State.

B11 Chivas USA 2, Exiles 1
Palos Verdes, Dapplegray School
Chivas U11's Diego Lopez scored two goals to lead the little goats to a 2-1 victory. Chivas came out and dictated the pace of game from the start. They currently sit in second place going into the U11 Showcase next weekend.

B14 Chivas USA 4, South Bay Force 0
Veterans Park, Pomona
Chivas dominated today's game against South Bay Force from the first whistle. In the 10th minute Diego Escobar and Jose Ortega played a two man game inside South Bay's penalty box to take a 1-0 lead. Chivas penetrated South Bay's penalty box multiple times and in the 15th minute Jose Arreloa scored from inside the box after receiving a pass from Tyler Marquez to make a 2-0. In the 17th minute, Tyler Marquez dribbled down the middle around a couple of defenders and scored from outside the penalty to take a 3-0 lead before the half. The second half started with Chivas dominating possession and penetrating their penalty box several times. The little goats ended the game with a 4-0 victory.

B15 Chivas USA 3, Arsenal FC 1
Veterans Park, Pomona
The Chivas USA BU15's defeated Arsenal FC BU15's 3-1 during an evening game on October 4th @ Veterans Park. Chivas USA showed "fight" and responded by scoring 3 goals in the 2nd half. In the 42nd minute of play, Orlando Lopez scored the first goal with an assist by Jacob Roberts. Two more goals followed in 56th and 70th minute by Ivan Gutierrez and Arturo Garcia. The team faces Strikers FC on Saturday, October 6th @ 10:35 am @ Whittier Soccer Complex.

B15 Chivas USA 5, Strikers FC 2

Undefeated Chivas USA BU15's kept their winning streak alive by beating the Strikers FC BU15's 5-2. Three goals were scored in the 1st half by Orlando Lopez, Jason Ballejo, and Ivan Gutierrez, with Ivan Gutierrez also having 2 assists. In the 2nd half, Arturo Garcia found the back of net with two more goals, one being assisted by Clayton Barnes. Next game will be a Superclásico Rematch vs. the LA Galaxy on Sunday, October 21st @ 1:35 pm @ North Torrance High School. All Chivas USA fans are invited to come and support the 15's!
