SCDSL Competition

B8 Chivas USA 0, FCGS 3

The U8's came away from Saturday’s game a little disappointed despite playing a fairly even match. With plenty of opportunities to finish, the little rojiblancos continued to press throughout the match, but came up short in the end.

B9 Chivas USA 6, Real So Cal Blue 1
North Ranch, Thousand Oaks
The U9's traveled to Thousand Oaks to play Real So Cal Blue. After giving up an early goal seconds into the game the little goats settled in and put together some quality soccer to come away with a 6-1 victory. Rhys Romero made a save on a PK to keep Real So Cal at 1 goal.

B10 Chivas USA 4, FCGS 0
Rincon Park, Chino

B11 Chivas USA 2, Strikers FC 0
Whittier Soccer Complex, Whittier
Chivas U11's were not looking ahead to next week’s derby versus FC Golden State. First, they had to take on a very stingy Irvine Strikers team, who were determined to knock out the second place team in Flight I. The little goats controlled the entire match with great ball possession through the midfield, which created plenty of opportunities in front of goal. Diego Lopez and Jaime Gonzalez netted goals for the little rojiblancos to take a 2-0 victory. Martin Delgado and his defensive unit added another shutout to their stellar year so far.

B14 Chivas USA 1, Exiles 2
Ranch Complex, San Juan Capistrano
Entering the game against the Exiles, Chivas were at the top of their Flight. In the first minute of the game, Exiles scored on a defensive error to go up 1-0. Ten minutes later Exiles scored again on a break to take a 2-0 lead. Chivas fought back by creating multiple scoring opportunities and in the 20th minute, Diego Escobar scored from a corner from David Ramon to make it 2-1. A few minutes later, Diego Escobar crossed the ball from the right and found Leo Perez in front of goal, but could not convert. Before the half was over Chivas had several opportunities to tie the game up, but failed to convert. The second half started with Chivas dominating and creating more opportunities. In the 65th minute, Ethan Aurangzeb crossed the ball from the left toward Tyler Marquez, but the Exiles goalkeeper got to the ball first. Tyler Marquez and Diego Escobar created several scoring opportunities but could not convert.

B15 Chivas USA 1, LA Galaxy 5
North Torrance HS
The Red-and-White received their first loss in league to the LA Galaxy 5 -1. Chivas USA BU15’s started out the game not mentally focused, and the LA Galaxy quickly capitalized by scoring two goals in the first half. The Goats rebounded with a goal by Ivan Gutierrez to make the score 2-1 in the beginning of the second half but a red card was issued and the team had to play the remaining game with a man down. This week the team will re-organize and prepare for their next game on Saturday, October 21st vs. Real So Cal Blue.

USSDA U16 Chivas USA U16 4, Pateodores 0

Axel Mendez opened the scoring in the first half after sidestepping a Pateodores defender off of short corner, and slotting past a defenseless Pats goalkeeper to go up 1-0. The second Chivas goal came off of some individual brilliance from Ryo Fuji. Fuji danced around three Pats defenders inside the six-yard box, and found himself 1v1 with the Pats goalkeeper. Chivas' third and fourth goals came from Alejandro Vergara and Joshua Perez. It was the second straight shut out for the U16's, who currently sit in second place in the Southern Division.
