Head-to-Head: Ante Jazic and Will Johnson
After two road games, Chivas USA returns to The Home Depot Center to host Real Salt Lake this Saturday. While the Utah-based team has already clinched their spot in the playoffs, Chivas needs three points to keep their playoff hopes alive. The series is split with Chivas taking a 1-0 victory at Rio Tinto Stadium on March 24, and Real Salt Lake defeating Chivas USA 3-0 at The Home Depot Center on June 16.
Two players to look out for in Saturday’s match are Chivas USA's Ante Jazic and Real Salt Lake midfielder Will Johnson. Aside from the fact that they’re teammates on the Canadian National Team, 36-year old Jazic has brought plenty club experience to Chivas, while 25-year old Johnson has only begun his scoring record.
Since joining the Red-and-White in 2009, defender Ante Jazic has become a regular the starting line-up. In 2012, Jazic has started 23 games. Jazic’s compatriot Will Johnson has been with Real Salt Lake since 2009. This season, Johnson has made 24 appearances (22 starts), notching three goals and two assists. Although Jazic will not face off directly with Johnson, Jazic could share a thing or two about Johnson to Chivas teammate James Riley.
