Chivas USA Youth Academy Update: September 24

Chivas USA Youth Academy teams go unbeaten this past weekend

The 2012/13 Chivas USA Youth Academy continued their SCDSL fall season this past weekend with all youth teams in action.  Here are the results from this very successful weekend. Congratulations to our teams and thank you to our players, parents and coaches for their dedication and commitment to Chivas USA!


B8 Chivas USA 5, Legends FC 1
Rincon Park, Chino
The U8's played their second SCDSL game this past weekend and beat Legends FC by a score of 5-1. Bryan Velasquez lead the scoring attack with 3 goals. The U8's displayed individual creativity all game long Making it difficult for Legends to get out of their own half of the field. The U8's play Sunday 9/30 in a two game Jamboree at North Ranch field in Thousand Oaks.

B9 Chivas USA 4, Arsenal 1
Rincon Park, Chino
The U9's played local rival Arsenal FC this past weekend and won by a score of 4-1. After a slow and sluggish start the U9's began to overwhelm the visiting Gunners with a dominate attack and jumped out to a 2-0 lead at half. The U9's added two more goals before surrendering a late PK to finish up at 4-1. The U9's next match is against FC Golden State Saturday 9/29 at Rincon Park in Chino.

B10 Chivas USA 1, Real So Cal Blue 0
Rincon Park, Chino
The U10's squared of Sunday against an old rival, Real SoCal Blue and came away with a 1-0 win in another classic matchup between the two.
The always and ever so talented Real squad pressured the 10's from the outset. Daniel Ramirez came away with a great 1v1 save early in the game to keep the game scoreless going into half. Chivas had several opportunities to score throughout the game and finally came away with a goal in the 2nd half to give them the 1-0 win. The next match will be this Saturday against Santa Clarita Valley at Rincon Park in Chino.

B11 Chivas USA 9, South Bay Force 0
Veterans Park, Pomona
Chivas U11's started the day off in first place of U11 flight 1. Diego Lopez got the team going with the first goal of the game and Victor Perez joined in on the fun with the 2nd goal of the game. South Bay started to pressure the boys to make it a game when Diego Lopez scored at end of first half to give Chivas a 3-0 halftime lead. In the second half the little goats came out and rolled over their opponent with 6 second half goals from Guillermo Lopez, Mario Ruiz, Jaime Gonzalez,Diego Lopez, Victor Perez, and Bryan Rosales. The little goats have not conceded a goal in two games. They will take on a tough Real So Cal team next Saturday at Veterans Park.

B14 Chivas USA 1, Santa Clarita 0
Veterans Park, Pomona
This Saturday morning Chivas U14 played Santa Clarita Valley Soccer Club, who were 2-0 prior to the game. In the first half the little Rojiblancos had a several opportunities inside Santa Clarita's penalty box but failed to covert. The first half ended in scoreless tie. The second half continued with both teams going back and forth. Chivas were awarded a throw-in close to the Santa Clarita's right corner flag. Jose Ortega threw the ball in to Tyler Marquez, who shielded the ball, turned, took one touch and curved the ball high in the far corner post to give Chivas the 1-0 win.

B15 Chivas USA 2, Santa Clarita 1
Veterans Park, Pomona
Chivas USA BU15's defeated the unbeaten SCV Soccer Club 2-1 for their 3rd straight win for the season. In the 20th minute of the first half, Orlando Lopez scored the first goal with an assist by Ivan Gutierrez. Goats had many other opportunities to score in the first half, but couldn't find the back of the net. Coach Jesse stated, "The young goats again controlled possession, but struggled to finish." The team started out strong in the 2nd half with a goal by Arturo Garcia in the 53rd minute of play while Jaime Serna Granillo, Goats Keeper, had two big diving saves for the team. SCV Soccer Club responded by scoring in the 60th minute, but were unable to beat the young goats, which resulted in a 2-1 victory for the Chivas USA.

B15 Chivas USA 7, FC Golden State 2

Chivas USA BU15’s were victorious over FC Golden State BU15 Gold ~ 7-2. Several players found the back of the net including Cesar Becerra with two goals, Ivan Gutierrez with two goals, Frank Lara with two goals and Orlando Lopez with a solo goal, while two assists were given by Ivan Gutierrez and one by Arturo Garcia. FC Golden State Gold was awarded two PK’s, which they capitalized on but were unable to rally to beat the young goats. Coach Jesse was pleased by the collective play by all the players on 16-man roster. “Everybody played a role in today’s game.”Next week, the Chivas USA BU15’s have a bye week and play their next game on October 4th vs. Arsenal FC.
