Chivas USA’s Youth Academy goalkeeper Jake McGuire and midfielder Marco ‘Marky’ Delgado have been selected to U.S. Soccer Development Academy’s Western Conference Starting XI in their respective age groups. Both McGuire and Delgado are currently in Houston with Chivas USA’s U18 squad ahead of their participation in USSDA’s Finals Week which kicks-off today in a match against FC Dallas U18.

McGuire has become key in Chivas USA’s U18 Team, helping the team finish the 2011-2012 season in second place of the USSDA’s Western Conference. Earlier this year, McGuire was named USSDA’s Player of the Week after earning his sixth shutout of the year and allowed only 17 goals.

On April 2nd, Delgado became the youngest player to sign with Chivas USA’s First Team (16, at the time), joining the squad during pre-season. Before Delgado becomes available for First Team action, he must complete a certain amount of hours with the Academy to be considered a Homegrown Player.
