Jay DeMerit was in charge of giving the Whitecaps their first road win of the season as he headed home the only goal of the match in the 68th minute. Overall, Chivas holds a 0-1-2 record against Vancouver.
Vancouver has scored a total of 19 goals this season, in comparison to the Goats’ 11 goals. Sebastien LeToux is leading in goals with Vancouver, while the Goats have Juan Pablo Angel with three goals, and Jose Correa and Alejandro Moreno are tied with two.
Speaking of goals, Chivas USA’s #10 Nick LaBrocca has been the only Goat that has scored against Vancouver. LaBrocca scored the first goal against Vancouver, and the third of 2011 season, in the 46th minute of the match off a pass by Gerson Mayen.
So far in the season, Joe Cannon has made 56 goals in the 17 games disputed, while Chivas USA’s #1 Dan Kennedy is just one save shy of Cannon with 55 with 16 games played. Kennedy also holds 1.13 goals against average in comparison to Cannon’s 1.15 GAA.
