Training update

After playing five games in 11 days (MLS, Reserve League and US Open Cup included), Chivas USA continued training this week in preparation for the team’s next match in MLS as they host Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday, July 7. While the team that played last Saturday at Dallas and against Charlotte Eagles on Tuesday took part in a regenerative session, the rest of the squad held their usual training sessions in The Home Depot Center’s Field 6. After having a busy schedule, the team will be off this weekend and will return to training on Monday, July 2nd at 9:30am.

Goats advance to semifinals in US Open Cup

Two goals from Colombian forward Jose Correa against USL’s Charlotte Eagles sent Chivas USA to the 2012 US Open Cup semifinals. The Goats will now head to Washington to face Seattle Sounders FC on Wednesday, July 11 at StarFire Sports Complex. The team will look to break Seattle’s three consecutive US Open Cup title run after being eliminated from the tournament in the 2010 semifinal by the Sounders. 2012 MLS All-Star fan voting ends on Monday

Voting for the 2012 MLS All-Star Team ends this Monday, July 2nd and it’s up to YOU to get all six Chivas USA players to the squad that will play against English Premier League’s Chelsea FC on July 28 in PPL Park. The Goats included in the ballot are Dan Kennedy, James Riley, Nick LaBrocca, Oswaldo Minda, Alejandro Moreno and Juan Pablo Angel. Click here to cast your Chiva vote!

Chivas USA U17/18 advance to USSDA Finals Week

Chivas USA’s U17/18 Team came to a 1-1 draw with New York Red Bulls last Thursday in U.S. Soccer’s Development Academy Playoffs held in Dallas, Texas, maintaining leadership in their Group 6, allowing them to move on to the tournament’s Finals Week. Forward Ben Spencer (who has also been training with the First Team) scored the only goal for Chivas USA. The team will now prepare for their next match (opponent TBD) and Finals Week which will be held from July 16-23 in Houston Texas.

Chivas at the Park hits Gilbert Lindsay Park

From soccer clinics to dance classes with the ChivaGirls, Chivas at the Park hits Gilbert Lindsay Park (425 E. 42nd Place) in Los Angeles this Saturday, June 30 in partnership with the City of Los Angeles Mayor’s Office and the Department of Recreation and Parks. Next game vs Vancouver

Chivas USA returns to The Home Depot Center next Saturday, July 7th to host Vancouver Whitecaps at 7:30pm. The Goats have already faced the Whitecaps earlier this season as the team fell 1-0 to the Canadian Team.
