Chivas USA’s 2nd Annual Bowling Extravaganza
Since its induction to Major League Soccer, Chivas USA has always strived to assist the community through various charitable efforts. This year is no different because this Sunday, June 10th, the Goats will be hosting the 2nd Annual Bowling Extravaganza at Lucky Strike Lanes in Torrance, California.
This year, the Goats will be working with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which focuses on granting wishes to children with life threatening medical conditions. Last year’s charity event benefitted ex-Chivas USA player Michael Lahoud’s Schools for Salone organization and was a great success.
Community Relations Senior Manager Nadia Gonzalez and her team have been working day and night to surpass last year’s success stating, “This year the process has been pretty intense because our team is always about raising expectations.” She also continues by alluding that there will be plenty of excitement on Sunday night, and that participants should be looking forward to the event.
In addition to this annual charity event, Chivas USA also participates in several year round events that are sponsored through the Chivas de Corazon USA foundation. Certain programs that are conducted within this foundation include Heart Soccer Camps and ChivaKids program.
The HEART Soccer Camps focus on providing children with special needs an opportunity to enjoy themselves at a soccer camp with other children facing similar struggles. ChivaKids gives underprivileged children and their families the chance of attending Chivas USA home games. This foundation focuses on bringing more cheer into the lives of many children within the community, and so far during its existence it has done an excellent job.
“Serving the community, children and families of Los Angeles has been a goal of the team from day one,” reflects a proud Nadia Gonzalez. “Whether it’s a grassroots soccer program with the City (Chivas at the Park), or our efforts to create excitement about reading for children (Read & Score Bus Tour)-our team is constantly looking for ways to give back in a meaningful way!”
