Red-and-White in Children’s Hospital LA

McKenzie, Zemanski and Gavin spent their afternoon with patients

From smiling faces to surprised looks, patients at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles welcomed Chivas USA defender Rauwshan McKenzie and midfielders Ben Zemanski and Blair Gavin along with ChivaFighter into their playrooms.

Even before stepping into the hospital, the Chivas USA players and the ChivaFighter were greeted by multiple Red-and-White fans hoping to get a photo or an autograph. Once inside, the Red-and-White players interacted with the surprised young patients, all part of the medical surgical unit.

“I thought the visit went great,” said Zemanski. “Our objective was to put a smile on their face and make them happy, and I think we accomplished it.”

Since being founded in 1901, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles is the largest pediatric hospital in Southern California, serving more than 97,000 children every year.
