Chatting with the ChivaGirls: Lucy

Lucy talks about touring with Prince Royce and Ricky Martin

Any team can have a cheerleader that has been to Panama City, Florida, but only Chivas USA has a ChivaGirl that has traveled to this location while sharing an appetizer with Latin pop star Ricky Martin. We are referring to second year ChivaGirl member, Lucy.

Growing up in Southern California, Lucy has enjoyed dancing since she was a child.  As a 4 year member of her high school cheerleading squad, Lucy then moved on to East Los Angeles College to receive her Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts.

Aside from her professional dance experience as a ChivaGirl, Lucy has danced along side some big name artists, including Latin pop singer Prince Royce during his concert tour. Just last year she had the opportunity of a lifetime when she was invited by one of Ricky Martin’s dancers to join them in Panama City. There, she had the chance to tour the city and meet the Puerto Rican singer.

When Lucy is not a ChivaGirl, she is a competitive dancer in the areas of salsa and bachata. Her love of dancing has also allowed her the opportunity to teach dance classes to young children between the ages of 5-17. When Lucy allows herself a special treat, she enjoys indulging in Hot Cheetos with Jalapeno cheese, while reading the current book on her list "Little Prisoner". She equally enjoys taking her two dogs, "Snuggles & Mille" to the local dog beach.

“My experience with Chivas USA in the past two years, has been remarkable,” said Lucy. “If it wasn’t for the support that we get from the fans and the organization in general, I don’t think we would feel as comfortable or as welcomed every time we step foot onto the field.”

Look for Lucy before the game in "ChivaTown" or during the ChivaGirl halftime performance at our next Chivas USA home game at The Home Depot Center!
