Chivas USA signs Goalkeeper Patrick McLain
CARSON, Calif. – Chivas USA announced today that the club has signed Wisconsin native goalkeeper Patrick McLain. The 23-year-old McLain has joined the Red-and-White organization this pre-season for workouts. Per League and team policy, details of the contract were not revealed.
McLain, 23, originally from Eau Claire, Wisconsin, earned second All-Big West second team spot his junior year (2010) after leading all conference goalkeepers with a program-record .835 save percentage and ranking second with 5.46 saves per match, third with five shutouts and fourth with 71 saves. Called to the All-Big West second team as a sophomore (2009) at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, after exhibiting conference bests for save percentage and saves per match. Also finished second with five shutouts and 73 saves and third with a 1.06 goals-against average. McLain will be sporting Chivas USA´s jersey #24.
