Chivas USA Youth Academy Update - November 5th & 6th

SATURDAY, November 5th

U15’s Chivas USA Academy 2 vs Exiles Red 2
Veterans Park

Caleb Calvert netted two goals on Saturday, but it wasn’t enough as the Exiles battled to the end. The 15’s controlled the match, and had plenty of opportunities to put the game away, but could not finish in the front of goal. Chivas USA falls to fourth place in their division.

U15’s Chivas USA Development vs CZ Elite
Pasadena HS

The 15’s controlled the first half of play by scoring two goals and coming away with their first win of the season. Justin Santana and Julian Briseno scored goals for Chivas USA U15’s.

U14’s Chivas USA 1 vs Arsenal FC 1
CSU San Bernardino

The team faced another team equal in points. The U14’s created few chances but with no real threat. In the second half Chivas USA went up 1-0. On a short corner kick Juan Albizar to Bryan Rodriguez, who then found Jason Ballejo in the box for a very nice header. The U14’s biggest chance to score came later when Jason Ballejo received an excellent pass from Edson Alvarado who dribbled a couple of defenders and found himself alone with the GK. The shot went over the bar. Scoring at that point would have been extremely important. Arsenal was dangerous in set pieces and they scored off a corner kick to tie the game. Chivas USA is tied for 4th place in their division.

U14’s Chivas USA Development 0 vs Real So Cal Black 3
Pierce College

Real So Cal Black take advantage of the opportunities they had and eventually took the victory 3-0 over the U14’s.

U12’s Chivas USA Development 0 vs South Bay Force 2
Torrance HS

The U12’s played hard throughout the match. They continued to press in front of goal, but couldn’t finish their opportunities. Chivas USA cureently sit in 9th place in their division.

U9’s Chivas USA Academy 5 vs Arsenal FC 1
Mountain View

The 2003's played Arsenal FC on Saturday in Rancho Cucamonga and won by a score of 5-1. Alfonso Becerra and Joel Trejo each had 2 goals. Danny Vasquez added another with a dazzling display of ball control after dribbling in and out of Arsenal defenders and finishing with a shot from 20 yards out.

The 2003's travel to Huntington Beach next weekend to play Beach FC Black on Saturday.

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 6TH

U13’s Chivas USA Development 4 vs Beach FC 2
LA Harbor College

The U13’s had plenty of chances in the first half, and only got 2 goals out of their efforts. Byron Vega took control of the team and lead the team to a much deserved victory with 3 assists. Goals came from Justin Islas (2), Robert Perez and Hugo Quiroz.
