The U18 Academy traveled down to San Diego to face the Nomads in search of their first win of the season.  Right from the start Chivas USA imposed their attacking style of play versus the Nomads back line, n a very hectic first half, which saw plenty of turnovers from both sides.  Before the half ended, Chivas USA managed to finally play with some simplicity, and capitalize on some good combination play from the top of the box.   Chris Caicedo found the back of the net just as the whistle blew for halftime.  The second half we saw much of the same.  Chivas USA managed to get an away win, and earn their first points of the season.  Jake Mcguire was strong in goal and kept the clean sheet.

USSDA U15/16
Chivas USA 3 vs. Nomads Academy 0

Coming off a dramatic come from behind win versus the LA Galaxy, Chivas USA played their best game of the year.  Chivas USA kept the Nomads pinned in there half and finally broke through just before the half ended.  With some good movement Malcolm Jones found Jorge Ruiz just inside the box.  Jorge took it to the end line and crossed the ball across the six-yard box, and found Mark Hernandez who slotted it home.  In the second half, Romario Lomeli found Jorge Ruiz making a run just inside the area.  Romario took his man on and found Jorge streaking to the near post, who finished it calmly.  The third play was from some individual play by Josue Garcia. Josue muscled through the Nomads backline and found Jorge Ruiz on the back post all by himself.  It was Jorge’s second goal of the game.  The backline of Malcolm Jones, Anthony Rodriguez, Jeffrey Quezada, Tyler Allen and goalkeeper Vince Morales earned their first shutout of the season.
