Head Coach and players talk about Saturday's win at Buck Shaw Stadium

CHIVAS USA HEAD COACH ROBIN FRASER

On team energy:

“I didn’t think we started with great energy, but we quickly found it. Even after giving up the first goal, I felt like we were on the front foot from then on. We were aggressive in both attacking and defending. I think that our energy was the difference. We really wanted it.”

On key to win:

“We did a good job of pressuring them on their end of the field and sustaining that pressure. It’s tough to find ways out when you’re pinned into your own end. That helped us win balls in good parts of the field.”

CHIVAS USA FORWARD JUSTIN BRAUN

Thoughts on second half:

“The team was playing well and we were pushing for that goal. We feel like we were rewarded for the work we had put in, not only today, but so far this season.”

On personal approach to game:

“I tried to run at them as much as possible. That’s one of my main assets. I have some speed to take players on, that’s what the coach wanted me to do and it helped lead to the second goal.”

CHIVAS USA FORWARD ALEJANDRO MORENO

On result:

“We’d been playing well the last three or four weeks, but things hadn’t been going our way in front of the goal. Today we had some chances and put two in, got a good result, and now we have to keep working hard so that things go our way next week.”

On importance of goal:

“We had had many scoring chances in the first half, but unfortunately they hadn’t gone in. Their goalkeeper was playing very well and made some saves on shots we thought were going in. I was able to flick in a nice ball from Heath and we went into the half calmly, because we knew that we had been the better team so far. It gave us confidence to go out and look for another in the second half and get a win that I think was well-deserved.”
