Chivas USA unveils third uniform for the 2011 MLS Season

CARSON, Calif. (Friday, April 1, 2011) – Chivas USA unveiled today its third uniform for the 2011 Major League Soccer season, a special-edition jersey that will be used for the team’s next home match, on April 9 against the Columbus Crew at The Home Depot Center in Carson. The colorful new jersey, featuring green and purple stripes, will be available in stores starting today.

This special-edition uniform, designed by former Mexican international goalkeeper Jorge Campos, commemorates the arrival of Spring and promises to be an all-time favorite among Chivas USA fans. Featuring green and purple stripes, with yellow trim and matching shorts, the new uniform will be used for one match only.

Players on April 9 will also wearing striped socks and will be instructed to wear two different colored cleats. The uniforms showcase the originality and personality of the designer, Jorge Campos, a Mexican soccer legend who is making his debut as a soccer uniform designer with Chivas USA and Major League Soccer.

Following the April 9th match, Chivas USA will return to the Red-and-White colors that for more than a century have symbolized the pride and tradition of Chivas, Mexico's most beloved soccer club.
