CARSON, Calif. (Wednesday, April 13) - Now in its fourth year, “Chivas at the Park” is one of Chivas USA’s most popular community events. The grassroots soccer clinic is held every few weeks throughout the Los Angeles area for kids aged 5-15.

For just $5 the “Chivas at the Park” provide high-level soccer instruction to both boys and girls. With support from Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and the Department of Recreation and Parks the clinics are held at some of Los Angeles’s finest soccer facilities.

The clinics afford kids the opportunity to learn and develop their soccer techniques over a fun ninety-minute training session. Coaches lead the players through drills that build teamwork in an environment that promotes the importance of fitness.

All participants receive a “Chivas at the Park” t-shirt, and two tickets to an upcoming Chivas USA home game. Members of the ChivaGirls are also present at all the events, teaching some of their dance moves and fitness secrets. For the first time, coaches at this year’s “Chivas at the Park” sessions will pick an MVP of each session, who will be awarded with a one-of-a kind, framed, team-autographed poster.

The first event this season held on Saturday March 26th and was enjoyed by over 500 kids. Midfielder Simon Elliott was on hand to award the MVP prize to the winners and sign autographs. Several Chivas USA academy coaches were also present at the event, always looking for the next talented to players to emerge from Los Angeles.

The next “Chivas at the Park” event is on Saturday April 23rd. For more information including a complete schedule and list of locations, visit www.chivasatthepark.com or call 1-800-961-1724
