USSF Dev. Academy preview: Chivas in action

Red-and-White fighting to make playoffs; Seattle take weekend off

The USSF Development Academy action continues this weekend, though the only MLS youths in action are Chivas USA.

Chivas play their first matches of 2011. Both the U-16s and U-18s will play against local side Real So Cal on Saturday. They have some work to do, though, if they hope to recover and make the playoffs at either the U-16 or U-18 level come summertime.

Sounders FC Academy will take the weekend off.

Two teams based from the Carolinas will make a trip up to Virginia. Saturday, North Meck SC plays against Virginia Rush AJ Auxerre – who are top of the Atlantic Division in the South Conference – before then heading to Richmond to face the Kickers the Sunday after.

Flip-flopping that schedule is the Charlotte Soccer Academy, which visits Richmond Saturday before concluding things against the Rush on Sunday.

Besides those four squads, the only other team that faces a double header this weekend is the California Development Academy, which plays Irvine Strikers and Pateadores out west.
