Chivas USA deny Kapo rumors
Chivas USA may be welcoming a whole new philosophy, but on Wednesday, they bid adieu to rumors of an offer to former French international midfielder Olivier Kapo.
Team officials confirmed to MLSsoccer.com that any rumors of an offer for the Frenchman to join the Rojiblancos were false.
Kapo, who has been searching for a new home since being released by Scottish giants Celtic FC this month, told France Football magazine that he had an "attractive offer" on the table from Chivas USA. Celtic were the eighth club in Kapo’s 12-year playing career.
Chivas USA are currently in the middle of a training camp in Paso Robles on California's Central Coast. The Goats traveled up from Carson, Calif., on Sunday, but two players — Dmitri Gonzalez and former Pumas UNAM standout Joaquín Beltrán — did not go along for the ride. The pair was on the initial preseason roster, but they will no longer be a part of the Chivas USA preseason.
The Rojiblancos will be training in Paso Robles until Feb. 1, when they return to Carson before continuing on to Casa Grande, Ariz., for more preseason training.
