Chivas USA congratulates Steve Wampler for climbing El Capitan
A Chivas USA friend, Steve Wampler recently became the first person with cerebral palsy to climb Yosemite's famed El Capitan. Cerebral palsy is a chronic condition that affects his body movement and muscle coordination, however, that didn't stop him from climbing and he did it all to raise money to send children with cerebral palsy to the free summer camp he founded for them in the gorgeous California High Sierras.
When Steve was young, he attended a wilderness camp for children with physical disabilities in California's High Sierras. “It absolutely changed my life," he says. "It opened my eyes to the way life was going to be without my mom and dad being around. It just opened my thought process overall.”
