Practice Report: October 14
Before departing to Seattle ahead of Friday’s match against the Sounders at Qwest
Field, Chivas USA trained today at The
Home Depot Center. The players practiced attacking and defending set pieces including corners
and free kicks. The Red-and-White hasn’t scored many goals on set pieces
this year (one goal on a PK against Toronto on August 7 and another one on a
corner kick against Chicago on May 1st) and has allowed 4 goals on
corners, and 3 on free kicks.
Coming into this match, Chivas
USA has never lost against Seattle in MLS league play and will try to keep that streak alive. Chivas
USA will miss suspended Alan Gordon and injured Darío Delgado (foot
fracture) against Seattle, a club currently riding a four-game winning streak.
The team is
expected to arrive around 5:00 p.m. PT in Seattle. Tomorrow’s game will
be broadcast on ESPN2, ESPN Deportes and W Radio 690 AM at 8:00 p.m. PT, and fans can also follow the Official Chivas USA Twitter account at twitter.com/cdchivasusa.
