Practice Report: October 11
Chivas USA returned to practice on Monday after the 3-0 win
over Toronto FC on Saturday night and now they are preparing for an electric
match in Seattle on Friday against the Sounders. Head Coach Martín Vásquez played
a small scrimmage game with the reserve team. Jesus Padilla and Sal Zizzo each
scored great goals during the scrimmage. Chivas USA has a busy schedule for the
upcoming two weeks with a game against Seattle on Friday and then a midweek
game at San Jose on Tuesday before the final match of the season against the
Chicago Fire on Saturday, Oct. 23.
Chivas USA tied the Seattle Sounders last season at Qwest
Field in a scoreless match. Michael Lahoud said after today’s practice
that he was excited to go back again to Seattle.
“We want to finish the season strong, and we played
for the shirt against Toronto and I don’t think that changes going to the
game against Seattle. It’s a great environment that we are going into. I
think that every player that wants to get better and have aspirations should be
involved in a game like this. They are a good team; they just won the US Open
Cup so they are feeling good about themselves. What better feeling to go into
their place and not look for a tie, we want three points, why not go for those
three points?,” said Lahoud.
The last game of the season against the Chicago Fire will be
Fan Appreciation Night, the first 10,000 fans will get special edition thunder sticks provided by General Mills and there will be raffles and prizes
throughout the night. For more information and to purchase tickets, call 1-877-CHIVAS-1 or click here.
