American Exports: Kljestan active in Anderlecht's Europa victory

MF gets "NHL assist" in 3-0 win; Altidore, V'real tops in Grp. D

AMSTERDAM — A pair of Americans pitched in for important Europa League wins on Thursday night, with Sacha Kljestan going all 90 in Anderlecht’s 3-0 defeat of AEK Athens.

Making his first start in two months, the former Chivas USA man picked up an "NHL assist" when Mbark Boussoufa buried his rebound for the first-half winner.

The win broke Les Mauves' Group G duck, moving them up to second place on goal differential.

Elsewhere, Jozy Altidore came on for the final eight minutes as Villarreal wrested the top spot in Group D away from PAOK Saloniki with a 1-0 win at home.
