A Look Back at ChivaClásico 2009
From DentroDelRebaño.com, the official bilingual blog of Chivas USA:
"Chivas de Guadalajara captured a 2-0 win over Chivas USA in the first ever ChivaClásico played on U.S. soil tonight at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, Calif. Substitute Omar Arellano scored two late goals to give Guadalajara the win in front of a boisterous and energetic crowd of 22,879.
"Both teams traded chances in the first half and into the second before the 74th minute when Arellano finished a low shot off a pass from Sergio Avila. Just minutes later, Arellando struck again, this time receiving a pass from Omar Esparza and beating goalkeeper Jon Conway, who was making his debut in a Chivas USA uniform.
"Chivas USA now looks toward its match against the New York Red Bulls this Saturday, Sept. 26, at 7:30 p.m. PT at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. With just six games remaining, the Red-and-White are in the middle of the hunt for a fourth consecutive spot in the playoffs."
