The MLS might be on break for the World Cup, but Chivas USA was practicing hard on Tuesday, preparing for their exhibition match against the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday in the Sacramento Cup.

The Red-and-White opened practice with team stretching exercises and plyometrics ladder agility drills.

After warming his players up, coach Martín Vásquez split the roster into four teams, and held a seven-on-seven round-robin tournament using FIFA rules. The teams wearing the lime green and red Adidas mesh jerseys advanced to the championship game of the mini-tournament, playing to a tie. In the shootout, the red team, led by goalie Zach Thornton, won.

Chivas USA will break for the Group round of the 2010 FIFA World Cup and will return to The Home Depot Center on June 26 to play FC Dallas. Tickets and information can be found by calling 1-877-CHIVAS-1 or clicking here.
