Seth Rubinroit, intern for cdchivasusa.com, will be sharing his
opinions on the 2010 FIFA World Cup and the play of Chivas USA's
Jonathan Bornstein and the rest of the U.S. Men's National Team as they
strive for glory in South Africa. If you have opinions of your own that
you would like to share, make sure to comment on the

Chivas USA defender Jonathan Bornstein did not get into the
match during the United States’ 1-1 draw against England on Saturday, but he
had to be happy watching his fellow American defenders.

After
English midfielder Steven Gerrard scored quickly in the fourth minute, the
American defense held England scoreless the rest of the match. Defender Jay
DeMerit did an excellent job controlling England’s chief threat, striker Wayne
Rooney.

Goalkeeper
Tim Howard made several spectacular saves. Howard got hurt and received
attention from the United States trainer in the 31st minute, causing
former Chivas USA goalie Brad Guzan to warm up on the sideline. However, Howard
was able to remain in the match.

I would
hate to be English goalie Robert Green right now. In the fortieth minute,
United States midfielder Clint Dempsey shot a bouncer that Green got both of
his hands on, so he should have been able to make routine save. However, Green
let the ball slip into the net, allowing a very soft goal. Green is being
universally mocked on the Internet for his error and he will not soon forget
what happened

The United
States’ next game is June 18 against Slovenia at 7 AM.
