CHIVAS USA TRAVELS TO FACE D.C UNITED THIS SATURDAY AT 4:30 P.M. PT: Chivas USA hits the road to take on D.C. United this Saturday, May 29, at 7:30 p.m. ET (4:30 p.m. PT) in a match that will be broadcast live on Prime Ticket, KWHY, and W Radio 690 AM. While the Red-and-White (3-6-1, 10 pts) have dropped three straight matches, D.C. has struggled early this season, holding a 1-8-0 record (3 pts) in 2010. The last time the two teams met was at RFK Stadium last October, and Chivas USA came away with a 2-0 win with a goal coming from Jesús Padilla. VOTE BRAUN FOR ‘GOAL OF THE WEEK’: Chivas USA forward Justin Braun scored a fantastic goal in Saturday’s match against Real Salt Lake, tying the match at one in the 80th minute. Receiving a pass from Marcelo Saragosa, Braun turned his defender and volleyed a shot to the far post, being RSL goalkeeper Nick Rimando. The strike has been nominated for AT&T Goal of the Week, and faces tough competition from a number of players around the league. Vote for Braun by following this link and watching his goal!

RED-AND-WHITE RETURN TO THE HOME DEPOT CENTER ON JUNE 26 AGAINST FC DALLAS: After two away matches and a two week break for the FIFA World Cup in South Africa, Chivas USA will return to The Home Depot Center on Saturday, June 26, when the team faces FC Dallas at 7:30 p.m. PT. At the moment, FC Dallas is just one point ahead of the Red-and-White in the Western Conference, holding a record of 2-2-5. The June 26 match will include a special ‘Kids Pack’ offer, giving fans a ticket for a child 16 and younger free with the purchase of an adult ticket. BORNSTEIN, KLJESTAN AND UNITED STATES NATIONAL TEAM TO FACE CZECH REPUBLIC TONIGHT: Chivas USA co-captains Jonathan Bornstein and Sacha Kljestan are currently with the United States National Team, which will square off against the Czech Republic tonight at 5:00 p.m. PT (8:00 p.m. ET) in Hartford, Conn., in a World Cup preparation match. United States head coach Bob Bradley will announce his final 23-player roster for the World Cup tomorrow after 10:00 a.m. PT live on ESPN’s SportsCenter, meaning tonight’s match is the last chance for several players to impress the coaching staff before cuts are made from the 30-man squad. ‘CHIVAS AT THE PARK L.A.’ CONTINUES SATURDAY, JUNE 5 AT WHITSETT IN NORTH HOLLYWOOD: Chivas USA has kicked off the popular ‘Chivas at the Park L.A.’ program, and will continue the series of soccer clinics taking place in various parks throughout Los Angeles with a session on Saturday, June 5 at Whitsett Recreation Center at 680 Whitsett Ave in North Hollywood. The clinics, which offer participating boys and girls ages 5-15 the opportunity to learn soccer techniques and practice drills that highlight teamwork in an environment that promotes the importance of fitness for the entire family, cost just $5 and include 90 minutes of soccer instruction, a Chivas at the Park t-shirt, and a certificate of completion. ‘MARCH TO THE MATCH’ WITH BAND OF THE GAME AND FANS STARTS AT 6:30 ON SATURDAY, JUNE 26: A new tradition has come to The Home Depot Center in 2010, with Chivas USA fans, the Union Ultras supporters group, and the Band of the Game (from Franklin High School), all gathering for the ‘March to the Match.’ With everyone making noise and getting ready for the match, all fans are encouraged to join the group when it leaves from Lot 11 at 6:30 p.m. PT on Saturday, June 26, continuing this new event which will occur prior to every home match the Red-and-White play. CHIVAS USA YOUTH TEAMS SPLIT WITH IRVINE STRIKERS: The Chivas USA Youth Teams have just three matches remaining in the 2009-10 U.S. Soccer Development Academy, and continue their strong play against tough competition. This past weekend, the teams split with the Irvine Strikers, with the U-18’s falling 2-1, and the U-16’s earning 2-0 victory. Clayton Eaton scored the lone goal for the U-18’s, while Chayanne Santiago scored both of the goals for the U-16’s. The Chivas USA U-18 team is currently in third place of the SoCal Division of the Development Academy’s West Conference with an 9-7-0 record, while the U-16 sits in fourth place with a 7-7-2 record. CHIVAS DE GUADALAJARA CLINCH A SPOT IN THE COPA LIBERTADORES SEMIFINAL: Chivas de Guadalajara fell 2-0 to Libertad of Paraguay last Tuesday, but was enough to clinch a spot in the semifinal of Copa Libertadores after scoring 3-0 in the first leg in the quarterfinals matchup. Chivas will face the Universidad de Chile in the semifinal on July 28, after four Chivas de Guadalajara players return from international duty from the FIFA World Cup.  For more information on the team, please visit Guadalajara’s official website at www.chivascampeon.com.
