Today’s practice was a very exciting day for Chivas USA and
especially for Defender Jonathan Bornstein and Midfielder Sacha Kljestan.

Both
of them found out today that they will be going to the United States’
Preliminary World Cup Camp in Princeton starting next week. The announcement
was at 11:00 a.m. PT, exactly when all the players were practicing at The Home
Depot Center.

At the end of practice, Head Coach Martín Vásquez gathered
everybody around and notified Kljestan and Bornstein, while the rest of the
players applauded and congratulated them.

“It shows the quality of players that
are in MLS. We have a lot of great players who play in Europe and in MLS
there’s a handful of players in each team that can play in the National Team.
That speaks highly of the competition in MLS,” said Bornstein after practice.

"I’m going to go to New Jersey and prove to the coaching staff that I belong
there. I feel I’ve been playing very consistently, I feel very confident,” said
Kljestan.

The team will train tomorrow and travel to Columbus on Thursday for
Saturday’s match at Crew Stadium.

Chivas USA returns home to play Real Salt Lake on May 22, information and tickets for that match can be found here.
