CHIVAS USA TO CELEBRATE SALVADORAN NIGHT THIS SATURDAY AT THE HOME DEPOT CENTER: The Red-and-White will celebrate a special Salvadoran Night at The Home Depot Center for this Saturday’s game against the San Jose Earthquakes. Come out to see El Salvador National Team players Ramón Sanchez and Arturo Alvarez from San Jose, and Chivas USA’s own Osael Romero! Also in the stadium on Saturday will be pupusas and other Salvadoran food, as well as music and cultural performances from Salvadoran groups. A special section of the stadium is reserved for Salvadoran night, with a special deal available for fans purchasing their tickets for the promotion.  ‘MARCH TO THE MATCH’ WITH BAND OF THE GAME AND FANS STARTS AT 6:30 ON SATURDAY, APRIL 24: A new tradition has hit The Home Depot Center in 2010, with Chivas USA fans, the Union Ultras supporters group, and the Band of the Game (Santee Falcon Marching Band this week), all gathering for the ‘March to the Match.’ With everyone making noise and getting ready for the match, all fans are encouraged to join the group when it leaves from Lot 11 at 6:30 p.m. PT on Saturday, April 24, continuing this new event which will occur prior to every home match the Red-and-White play. COME CELEBRATE ‘COLLEGE NIGHT’ AT THE STADIUM ON SATURDAY: Chivas USA is offering all college students a break from their end-of-semester cramming with a special deal for all the undergrads coming to Saturday’s match against San Jose! ‘CHIVAS AT THE PARK’ CONTINUES SATURDAY, MAY 1 AT GILBERT LINDSAY: Chivas USA has kicked off the popular ‘Chivas at the Park’ program, and will continue the series of soccer clinics taking place in various parks throughout Los Angeles with a session on Saturday, May 1 at Gilbert Lindsay Park at 425 E. 42nd Place in Los Angeles. The clinics, which offer participating boys and girls ages 5-15 the opportunity to learn soccer techniques and practice drills that highlight teamwork in an environment that promotes the importance of fitness for the entire family, cost just $5 and include 90 minutes of soccer instruction, a Chivas at the Park t-shirt, and a certificate of completion. RED-AND-WHITE CELEBRATE CAL SOUTH NIGHT ON MAY 8 VS. CHIVAS USA YOUTH TEAMS TO HOST SAN DIEGO SURF THIS WEEKEND AT CERRITOS COLLEGE: The Chivas USA Youth Teams enter the home stretch of their seasons in the Development Academy as they prepare to host the San Diego Surf on Sunday, April 25 at Cerritos College. The Chivas USA U-18’s are now in second place in the SoCal Division of the Development Academy’s West Conference with a 6-5-0 record, while the U-16’s are in fourth place with a 4-5-2 record. The rosters and full schedule for the Chivas USA U-18 and U-16 teams, which compete in the 2009-10 U.S. Soccer Development Academy, can be found here for the U-18’s, and for the U-16 Team here. CHIVAS DE GUADALAJARA WITH ONE MATCH LEFT BEFORE PLAYOFFS: Chivas de Guadalajara is in second place overall in the Mexican First Division standings with just one match left in the Bicentenario 2010 season ahead of the playoffs. The team has a record of 10-5-1 (W-L-T) after falling 2-0 to Atlas this weekend in the Guadalajara derby. After playing Cruz Azul on the road, the team will learn its first-round opponent and start the playoff campaign, looking for the team’s record 12th championship.
