Chivas USA defeats Ventura County Fusion 2-0

Despite inclement weather, the Red-and-White trained Tuesday in two groups. Chivas USA Public relations was on hand for both sessions and had this to report:

Chivas USA starters trained on Tuesday morning at The Home Depot Center and a second group played a scrimmage game against the Ventura County Fusion. In that game, Chivas USA defeated VCF 2-0 with goals by Osael Romero and Carlos Martinez. Chivas USA’s starting line-up was the following: Dan Kennedy, Cesar Zamora, Yamith Cuesta, Carlos Borja, Gerson Mayén, Artur Aghasyan, Michael Lahoud, Ben Zemanski, Jorge Flores, Romero and Justin Braun.  Romero scored the first goal on a free kick at the 8th minute. Head Coach Martin Vasquez made several changes in the second half, including four players from the Youth Teams. One of them, Carlos Martinez scored the second goal for Chivas USA on a pass by Aghasyan. Ventura County Fusion plays in the USL Premier Development League.

The Red-and-White take the pitch again on Saturday night for a game against the San Jose Earthquakes at The Home Depot Center. For more information on that match and to get tickets, click here.
