After splitting results in their first games of the year, Chivas USA’s U18 and U16s are back in USSDA action this Saturday facing the Irvine Strikers FC at the University of California, Riverside.

Despite two goals from 16 year-old Amaya Adonis, the U18s kicked off the year on the wrong foot, falling 4-3 to San Juan Soccer Club on Sunday in Mather, Calif. On Saturday, the 18’s will look to regain ground, add points in the standings and break the Strikers six-game winning streak. The Irvine team is one position ahead of the Goats, sitting in fourth place of the Southwest Division. Saturday’s match is scheduled to kick-off at 5:30 pm.

Meanwhile, Chivas USA’s U16s will look to continue their seven-game winning streak this Saturday against the Strikers. Two goals by Caleb Calvert and one by Alejandro Vergara gave the Goats a 3-1 win over San Juan SC in their first game of the year on Sunday. The young Goats are currently in second place of the Southwest Division standings with 27 points.

The U16’s next opponent, Strikers FC, sit in seventh place of the Southwest Division with 15 points, though they are unbeaten in the second half of the season. The U16 Strikers kicked off the year with a 1-0 win over Nomads FC and a scoreless draw with San Diego Surf last weekend. The U16 match is scheduled to kick off at UCR at 8 pm PT.
