SCDSL COMPETITION

B9 Chivas USA 4, FRAM 2
Rincon Park, Chino
The U9's finished league play this past weekend with two tough games. On Saturday the boys played an early morning game in Chino Hills on a wet field against FRAM and came away with a 4-2 victory. FRAM took an early lead with a goal 5 minutes into the game but Chivas came back with 2 goals for a 2-1 halftime lead. FRAM wasn't going to make things easy for the little goats and evened the score up early 2-2. Maintaining their poise, Chivas put the game away with two more goals locking down the 4-2 victory. Brian Cobian had an outstanding game on the defensive end of the field for Chivas helping keep a feisty FRAM squad in check.

On Sunday the 9's traveled to El Segundo to take on the South Bay Force which sat at the top of the table. In what had to be one of their more impressive performances, Chivas won 1-0 to close out league play and a finish at the top of the North bracket. Chivas displayed great control by maintaining a majority of possession throughout the game keeping the athletic and talented South Bay squad from getting too many opportunities. Giovanni Ortega dominated the center of the pitch having one of his best games to date as he sprayed the ball from sideline to sideline helping to create chances on goal. Jonathon Lemus also had a great game and his line goal set up by Christian Torres was the difference. The 9's will play next at the Nike Harvest Cup over Thanksgiving weekend in Irvine, CA.

B10 Chivas USA 2, Arsenal FC 0
Rincon Park, Chino
The 10's finished league play Saturday with a 2-0 victory over the Gunners of Arsenal at Chino Hills. Aimar Cuevas and Frankie Alvarez scored a goal a piece the lead Chivas to victory. Daniel Ramirez had a shut out as Adrian Munoz saw his first action out of goal and on the field in a couple years showing his versatility. With the victory the 10's finished at the top of the North Bracket giving up only 6 goals on the season. The 10's play this upcoming weekend at the Nike Harvest Cup in Irvine, CA

B14 Chivas USA 2, Exiles 0
LA Harbor College
Chivas BU14 played the last game of the season Sunday afternoon at LA Harbor College against Exiles SC Red. Chivas dominated the game with a consistent effort from the whole team with very good ball movement. After creating multiple scoring opportunities in the first half David Ramon connected with Tyler Marquez in the 15th minute, who went around a couple of defenders outside the penalty to score and give the goats a 1-0 lead.

The second half began with a very similar effort by Chivas. In the 29th minute Tyler Marquez went one on one with several Exiles defenders and penetrated the defense to score the second and final goal for the 2-0 victory.

Chivas finished their SCDSL season in second place of Flight North and fourth overall with seven wins, one tie and two losses. Great achievement by Coach Hugo and his staff as the youngest team in BU14 division

USSDA B16 Chivas USA 2, San Diego Surf 1
University of California Riverside
The U16’s traveled to the University of Riverside to take on the Surf academy from San Diego. The young goats got on the score board early off a corner kick from Andrew Benitez. Andrew rose above the Surf defenders and knocked home a header from six yards. Two minutes into the second half Jorge Ruiz made one of his many penetrating runs behind the Surf defense and found Caleb Calvert for an easy tap in to give the U16’s their fifth straight win. Chivas sits in second place of the So Cal conference, and just 4 points behind first place Real Salt Lake, with a game in hand.

The U16’s are off this weekend as they prepare for the Winter Showcase in Sarasota, Florida November 30 – December 4. In Florida they will be facing the Chicago Sockers, New England Revolution and DC United.

USSDA B18 Chivas USA 1, San Diego Surf 1
University of California Riverside
The U18’s faced a very stingy Surf team on Saturday. Coming off an important conference win the previous week versus Arsenal FC, Chivas were looking to add to their point total and gain ground in the So Cal conference. Surf jumped out on top early in the second half with a long throw-in. Miscommunication by the Chivas defense led to a wide open Surf player who headed it home. Chivas controlled most of the second half as Surf sat back and put numbers behind the ball and waited to counter. In the 70th minute Adam Arana sent a curling free-kick into the top left hand corner of the goal to tie the game up 1-1. That is how ended up as Chivas came away with a disappointing tie.

The U18’s are off this weekend as they prepare for the Winter Showcase in Sarasota, Florida November 29 – December 3. In Florida they will be facing the Chicago Sockers, New England Revolution and DC United.
