Academy Tryout Information

Chivas USA Youth Academy tryouts are held at Veterans Park in Pomona every year after each age groups respective State and National Cups have concluded. A tryout consists of several game practices and exercises designed to show us your range of ability, skills, speed and athleticism. It is an informal session, aimed at giving players the opportunity to display their talent and to obtain an assessment of their potential from a Chivas USA Staff Coach. All participants are graded and assessed by USSF licensed coaches.

U.S. Soccer Development Academy Teams - These teams are formed by calendar year and participate in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy Program.
U-18 (1994-1995) - Trials will be held summer 2013 for the 2013-14 season
U-16 (1996-1998) - Trials will be held summer 2013 for the 2013-14 season

Youth Academy Teams - Per Cal South rules, these teams have a cut off date of August 1, and the age category lasts until the next July 31. All Chivas USA youth academy teams compete in the Southern California Developmental Soccer League. Tryouts will be held after each age groups respective State or National Cup has concluded.  Please visit www.calsouth.com for future State and National Cup fixtures.
U-15 (1997-1998) Players born on or after 8/1/97
U-14 (1998-1999) Players born on or after 8/1/98
U-13 (1999-2000) Players born on or after 8/1/99
U-12 (2000-2001) Players born on or after 8/1/00
U-11 (2001-2002) Players born on or after 8/1/01
U-10 (2002-2003) Players born on or after 8/1/02
U-9 (2003-2004) Players born on or after 8/1/03
