Chivas USA’s First Team received a pleasant surprise after Friday’s training session upon seeing over 50 kids waiting to meet them. The youngsters, along with their parents and coaches, were visiting from Chivas Pomona, affiliate club of Chivas USA which includes U9, U10, U11, and U13 teams.
The future soccer stars arrived just in time when the Red-and-White’s training session kicked off at 9:30 in the morning on Friday. As special guests, the group obtained the opportunity to go down to the field and watch first-hand how professional soccer players train. The kids anxiously watched training, pointing out their favorite players in the squad and waiting for the ball to come near them so that they could kick it back.
Upon Head Coach Jose Luis Real calling the end of the session, the wish and happiness of the kids increased by the moment. One-by-one, the Chivas USA players approached the group and began taking pictures and signing autographs to the young players who dream of becoming professionals one day.

Translation: “People in LA wear sunglasses even when it rains.” True LA story, Laurent. And you know you live in California when you see girls wearing boots in 85 degree weather. We’d have to use the hashtag: #firstworldproblems

Dan Kennedy might’ve not won MLS Goalkeeper of the Year and we think we just found out the most legit reason:
Clearly MLS voting committee or Simon Cowell or whomever is in charge of voting GK of the year was distracted by Dan Kennedy's chiseled jaw.

The season might be over for Chivas USA, but the team returned to The Home Depot Center this morning for training after two days off.
The Goats kicked off the morning with light warm-up exercises led by coach Jim Liston. The team then proceeded to what would cover the rest of the training: a 5v5 tournament with four groups. The team with black jerseys took first place with 23 points, just one point more than second place grey team. In the final game, the black team defeated the grey squad 2-1. In the end of the tournament, goalkeeper coach Daniel Gonzalez was named MVP of the tournament, with the least amount of goals against.
Chivas will return to training tomorrow morning and will have the weekend off before returning to training once again Monday morning.
Chivas USA headed to training this morning in preparation for this Sunday’s final match of the season at FC Dallas. After a few stretching exercises, the team was divided into two squads for a scrimmage consisting of two 30-minute halves.
Before the end of the first half, forward Juan Agudelo scored the first goal for the yellow team as Jorge Villafaña crossed a ball that the young forward pushed into the back of the net past goalkeeper Tim Melia. A few moments after the start of the second half, Jose Correa equalized the match for the red team.
Academy players Ben Spencer and Amaya Adonis came into the scrimmage for the second half. Spencer was able to put the yellow team back in the lead, but short moments later, Correa scored the second goal for the reds. Once the match seemed like it would end in a draw, Casey Townsend slid to give the red team a 3-2 win over the yellow team.
Team will have Thursday off but will return to training this Friday ahead of their trip to Dallas on Saturday.
Thinking about what to get your Chivas USA-loving family member for the holidays? Then consider this: How about a game-worn Dan Kennedy or Juan Agudelo autographed jersey OR a team autographed Chivas USA Pink training shirt? To top it off, it’s all for a good cause! Part of the proceeds in MLS W.O.R.K.S’ auction will be destined to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and the National Breast Cancer Foundation in the U.S.
But hurry, auction ends Thursday, November 15 at 5:00 p.m. PT. What are you waiting for? Start bidding! Click here to view all items and bid!
