Top saves of 2012
Although Goalkeeper Dan Kennedy made 109 saves this season, he wasn’t the only one making saves. Defender James Riley made a great save as Chivas USA hosted Seattle Sounders in the second meet against the club this season in late August.
The Rojiblancos were down 1-nil to Seattle in the 20th minute when Brad Evans headed the ball towards goal. Kennedy attempted to punch the ball out of the box but missed; the ball continued its way but Riley cleared the ball before it passed the goal line. The match ended in a disappointing 6-2 home loss for the Goats, but Riley’s save prevented a larger goal differential.
