Chivas USA announced the acquisition of midfielder Gabriel Farfan from the Philadelphia Union on Wednesday and the next day, welcomed the new Goat in Training. CDChivasUSA.com sat down with the new Red-and-White player to talk about joining the club:
CDChivasUSA.com: How do you feel about joining Chivas USA?
Gabriel Farfan: It’s something very special to me; I was here four or five years ago with the U19. I also went to college here in Fullerton, which is 20 minutes from here. I feel like at home and I’m very happy to be back with my friends and teammates.
CDChivasUSA.com: How have your new teammates welcomed you?
Gabriel Farfan:Good. I know a lot of the guys in the locker room and I get along very good with them.
CDChivasUSA.com: What’s your style of play?
Gabriel Farfan:I’m very creative and with a lot of technicality. I don’t have a lot of strength, but I am fast and technical.
CDChivasUSA.com: How did Chelis welcome you?
Gabriel Farfan: Very good. He welcomed me when I got to the locker room and he asked what type of player I am and he told me the what role I’m going to have with the team.

Chivas USA estuvo de fiesta en el entrenamiento de este miércoles en el Track and Field Stadium de El Home Depot Center con el motivo de despedir a Marky Delgado, quien se integrará a la Selección Sub-18 de Estados Unidos en Portugal, y para celebrar el decimo octavo cumpleaños del joven jugador.
Después de dos horas de entrenamiento, el grupo, liderado por el capitán Dan Kennedy, se alistó para echarle una nevera llena de hielo y agua al jugador. Tras la gran sorpresa, los jugadores presentaron a Marky con un pastel de cumpleaños, aniversario que cumplirá el día del jueves, pero que por motivos del viaje con la selección, la celebración tuvo que haber sido adelantada. Delgado se mostró sorprendido y contento por la celebración que le hicieron sus compañeros.

Chivas USA had a reason to celebrate in this Wednesday’s training session at The Home Depot Center’s Track and Field Stadium; the team bid Marky Delgado farewell as the youngster joins the U.S. U18 squad in Portugal and celebrated his 18th birthday.
After two hours of strenuous training, the group, led by Captain Dan Kennedy, prepared to throw Delgado a cooler full of ice and water. After the icy surprise, players presented Marky with a Birthday cake, who turns 18 on Thursday, but due to international duty, the celebration was moved to Wednesday. Delgado was surprised and happy with the celebration his teammates had in store for him.

Friday morning, Chivas USA announced the acquisition of Mexican midfielder Aaron Ponce, after a successful career with Chivas de Guadalajara Second Division side, Chivas Rayadas.
After the announcement, Ponce spoke with cdchivasusa.com to talk about his signing, his style of play and also sent a message to the fans. Watch the video below, and check out the translated script of what Ponce had to say.
CDCHIVASUSA.com: How do you feel about your signing with Chivas USA?
Aaron Ponce: I feel very happy to be here, I think it’s a huge opportunity. Overall, I’m very excited for this opportunity that the club has been given me.
CDCHIVASUSA.com: How do you like working under Coach Chelis?
Aaron Ponce: I can feel he has confidence in me. I’m here to work, to give what I can and what the coach wants from me.
CDCHIVASUSA.com: How have your teammates welcomed you?
Aaron Ponce: They’ve given me great confidence and trust. Honestly, I didn’t think they would welcome me in that way, I was truly surprised. It’s great to know they trust you, that they include you in the group that quickly.
CDCHIVASUSA.com: What’s your style of play?
Aaron Ponce: My style is two-touch plays; mobility, I like to have the ball a lot and I like to help my team out. When I don’t have the ball, I like to be very aggressive. I’m here to give the mobility and technical talent that I have to the team.
CDCHIVASUSA.com: Do you have a message to the fans?
Aaron Ponce: I’d like to say hello to the fans. I hope they can support us in our next game and I’d like to send everyone a hug.

Burling has stood out in the Red-and-White’s three-man backline, helping the team to second place in the Western Conference with a 3-1-1 record.
Burling has made it to Coach Chelis’ starting line-up with hard work during the team's training sessions, heading the ball into the back of the net during inter-squad scrimmages on multiple occasions. With the ideal height, Burling is bound to score his first goal for Chivas USA soon. Check out one of his attempts from Saturday’s game against the ‘Caps:
