Chivas USA continue rising in MLSsoccer.com’s Power Rankings. After a 4-1 win at Chicago last week, the Red-and-White were positioned at number eight. This week, the Goats moved up two spots to number six after a 2-1 victory over Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Saturday.

Only two Western Conference teams sit above Chivas USA; one spot ahead, FC Dallas, who has lost one game (on 3/10 against the Goats), sit in 5th place while the LA Galaxy remain in the second spot after a 2-2 draw at Toronto.

Big week ahead for Chivas USA as Rivalry Week looms over MLS and the first SuperClásico of the season is four days away.

Coach Jose Luis Sanchez Solá, “El Chelis,” travelled to Mexico after Sunday’s game; his third grandchild was born on Thursday. Chelis returned to training Wednesday morning to continue working towards Sunday’s game against the LA Galaxy.

After the end of Sunday’s game, the scoreboard and passing accuracy percentage were positive for Chivas, a turnaround from the first game of the season. The Goats continued perfecting this skill in Wednesday’s training, as well as working on strength and conditioning.

Two former Chivas USA Academy players joined the First Team for training this morning. Eric Gonzalez, a freshman at UC Riverside, and Brendan Hines-Ike, a freshman at Creighton University, played for the Red-and-White U18’s last season. The two players will be at training camp with the Goats for the rest of the week.

Chivas USA will train everyday this week at 10:30 am at The Home Depot Center’s Field 6. For all training updates, follow us on Twitter: @cdchivasusa

One win, three points, and two spots up in MLS Power Rankings. After kicking off in the last spot, Chivas USA have moved up to the 17th spot in the Rankings.

The Goats were able to move up after a comeback 3-1 win over FC Dallas on Sunday, the most goals scored by the Red-and-White since last season’s 3-3 draw at New England Revolution on August 29. The win also permitted Chivas to move up to third place in the Western Conference, just below Vancouver Whitecaps FC and LA Galaxy. Chivas will look to continue moving up as they prepare to face the Galaxy on Sunday in the first SuperClásico of the season.
