It’s a big day in CONCACAF soccer! The Mexican National Team hosts the United States National team today at the infamous Estadio Azteca at 7 pm PT for FIFA World Cup Qualifying match. You can watch the game live on Univision or ESPN starting at 6pm.
We asked a few of our players and soccer staff to give us predictions on today’s game. The majority of them chose Mexico, predicted that Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez will be the one scoring the goals and that Mexico's home field advantage is just too strong. Juan Agudelo came onto the field in the 64th minute for the United States National Team’s international friendly match against Canada on Tuesday evening in Houston, Texas. The match was the first of the year for the Americans. After 90 minutes, the match ended in a scoreless draw, with the U.S. having the majority of shots on goal.
Up next, the U.S. will travel to San Pedro Sula for their first World Cup Qualifying match in the Semifinal Round against Honduras. Los catrachos come from participating in the 2013 Copa Centroamericana, tournament held from Jan. 18- 27 in Costa Rica. The Hondurans were able to make it to the final match after defeating Belize in the semifinal match, but fell in the championship game to host country Costa Rica. Fans can tune into next Wednesday’s game on beIN Sport at 1 p.m. PT.
Chivas USA’s Marco Delgado and Academy player Ben Spencer joined the U.S. U18 Training Camp last Saturday, November 17 for a one-week camp held in The Home Depot Center. The red, white and blue will face the Canadian U18 squad on Wednesday, Nov. 21 and Friday, Nov. 23 in the Carson stadium as part of the training camp.
The last training camp for the U.S. U18 was back in early September. Both Delgado and Spencer made the ten-day training camp trip to the Netherlands. The American squad earned a 3-1-0 record against the youth ranks of Feyenoord Rotterdam, Borussia Dortmund and Club Brugge. The most impressive win for the U18’s was a 4-2 victory over the home country’s youth national team on Sept. 11.
In four friendly games this year, the U18’s hold a 1-1-2 record, with Academy forward Spencer leading as team scorer with two goals.

Juan Agudelo and the U.S. National Team earned a 2-2 draw Wednesday night to Russia in Kuban Stadium. Michael Bradley scored the lone goal for the Americans, breaking Russia's 449 minutes without conceding a goal.

Under Jurgen Klinsmann, the U.S. has obtained a record of 11-6-3 (W-L-T) since he took charge of the national team in July 2011. The U.S. has a three-game winning streak; in their last match, the Americans took a 3-1 win over Guatemala in the third round of the CONCACAF World Cup Qualifiers. The match against Russia will be the final game of the year for the Americans before continuing to look for a spot in the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
Agudelo has not appeared with the U.S. National Team since October 2011, when the squad faced Ecuador in an international friendly. The Red-and-White forward is one of three MLS players listed in Klinsmann 20-man roster.
Russia currently sits in ninth place in FIFA standings finishing first in their World Cup qualifying group that includes Portugal and Northern Ireland. After four games, the Russians the finished the stage undefeated with 12 points, eight goals in favor and no goals against.
The first time Juan Agudelo was called-up to the U.S. National Team, he was 17 years old and in his first year in the league with New York Red Bulls. Since then, the Colombian-born forward has made 15 appearances and scored two goals. Agudelo received today his first call-up to the Men's National Team of the year, and is one of three MLS players that will face Russia on Wednesday, November 14 at 7 am PT (WATCH- ESPN2, ESPN3 & Univision Deportes).
In his debut match with the National Team, Agudelo scored his first goal with the squad, becoming the youngest player ever to score for U.S. and giving the American squad the 1-nil victory over the host team South Africa. Check out his goal:
Chivas USA’s Ante Jazic and Oswaldo Minda culminated this year’s international duty after Tuesday night’s final FIFA date.
Red-and-White defender Jazic was unavailable for Tuesday’s match against Honduras due to illness, but the Canadians took a brutal 8-1 loss to the home team. After the loss, the Canadians dropped to third place and out of contention for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. In the World Cup qualifiers, Jazic helped Les Rouges to a 6-2-3 (W-L-T) record.
Ecuadorian midfielder Minda came into the match for La Tri in the 70th minute, helping the squad to a 1-1 draw with Venezuela. With the draw, Ecuador moved up to second place of CONMEBOL standings with 17 points, just three points away from first place Argentina. Ecuador will continue looking for a spot in the 2014 FIFA World Cup on March 26, 2013 when CONMEBOL qualifiers resume.
Both players will return to Los Angeles and prepare for Chivas USA’s final two games of the 2012 season against Colorado Rapids and FC Dallas.

El mediocampista de Chivas USA Oswaldo Minda fue llamado a la Selección ecuatoriana para las Eliminatorias de CONMEBOL rumbo a la Copa Mundial de la FIFA de 2013. Minda, junto a ‘La Tri’ enfrentará a Bolivia en el Estadio Olímpico Atahualpa en Quito este viernes, 7 de septiembre y luego viajaran a Montevideo, Uruguay para su partido ante Uruguay en el Estadio Centenario el martes, 11 de septiembre. El mediocampista no estará en el partido de Chivas USA ante Seattle Sounders programado para este sábado a la 1pm en Century Link Field.
Desde su integración a Chivas USA a finales del año pasado, Minda ha sido llamado regularmente a su selección. El mediocampista de 29 años ha jugado en 13 partidos para los ecuatorianos, que incluye partidos en el torneo sudamericano Copa América, así como partidos de clasificación a la Copa Mundial. Con los rojiblancos, Minda ha jugado en 18 partidos (16 de ellos como titular), marcando su primer gol con el equipo angelino el 14 de abril en el partido ante Toronto FC.
